The 2020 Toyota RAV4 had 3 recalls under its belt. The NHTSA - National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is a government agency focused on conducting various tests and releasing the recall history of all the cars that are/were sold in the United States. The reputation of a brand and model can be determined by the NHTSA ratings and the recall history of the particular model. This proves that RAV4 has much lower depreciation compared to the competition and has a great demand in the used car market too. The dealership experience has also remained fairly similar to the 2019 model and gets a score of 83 out of 100. The resale score is still high, unlike its competition, and gets 90 out of 100. The driving experience score has also deteriorated with a score of 78 out of 100 against 82 the car managed in the year 2019. In comparison, the 2018 model fared better in quality and reliability with a respectable 81 out of 100. The quality and reliability rating has been declining for the past few years and is currently rated at 74 out of 100 which is quite average. 2020 RAV4 also managed to score slightly lower than the RAV4 from 2019 and the ratings overall have been on a downfall since 2016. RAV4 did comparatively worse than its arch-rivals like Mazda CX-5, Kia Sorento, and Hyundai Santa Fe even though the difference wasn't very huge. Power, it also has got huge competition from homegrown products from Chevrolet and Buick along with many Asian offerings. Even though Toyota RAV4 did quite well in J.D. Though the 2021 model hasn't been reported by JD Power yet, the 2020 Toyota RAV4 scored an admirable 80 out of 100 in the J.D.
